Did you know that sexual harassment lawsuits are a significant contributor to the reason 4 out of 5 businesses close within the first 5 years? 
---- California and federal courts have sent a clear message that sexual harassment will not be tolerated. 
--- Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 states that sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination. 
--- Federal law reflects that an employer who is aware of sexual harassment of an employee and does not take prompt/appropriate action can be held 100% responsible for the harassment. 
--- Federal law also states that if an employer does not know about the harassment, but should have know about it, that employer can be held 100% responsible for the harassment.

 

Sexual Harassment Definition:

--- Sexual harassment is the making of unwanted and offensive sexual advances and/or unwanted sexually offensive remarks or acts.  Sexual harassment can be amplified if these unwanted types of behavior are done by one in a superior or supervisory position for reasons including but not limited to conditions of continued employment, satisfactory evaluation and/or promotion.
